Pugh to Host Seminar to Detect Warning Signs of Child Grooming and Exploitation

November 10, 2025

LUZERNE – Focusing on raising awareness and providing families with practical tools to identify and prevent child exploitation in both online and in-person settings, Rep. Brenda Pugh (R-Luzerne) is inviting everyone to attend her event, “Grooming and Exploitation: What Every Community Needs to Know.”

“Online grooming and exploitation are the latest ways predators are reaching our children, often in our own homes,” said Pugh. “Please join me as we discuss the ways to recognize these crimes and what we can do to keep our families safe.”

The program will highlight how technology, social media and gaming platforms are being used to target minors, and will include discussion on prevention strategies, recognizing warning signs and community resources available for parents and caregivers.

The event will take place Thursday, Nov. 13, from 6-8 p.m. at the Wyoming Valley West Middle School auditorium, 201 Chester St., in Kingston. Angela Sperrazza, chief deputy attorney general with the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s office, is the guest speaker.

Parents can bring their teenage children to begin these difficult discussions but be aware that this subject matter is not recommended for young children. RSVP is encouraged, but not required, at RepPugh.com or by calling the office at 570-283-1001.
