About Brenda
Rep. Brenda Pugh is in her first term in the Pennsylvania House of Representative, with a focus on holding the line on taxes to enable taxpayers to keep more of their money, reforming state government to make it work for our families and supporting public safety initiatives to keep communities safe. She will serve on the following committees for the 2025-26 Legislative Session: Aging & Older Adult Services, Children & Youth, Environmental Resources and Human Services.
Growing up in Northeast Pennsylvania, Rep. Pugh is a successful business owner, wife, mother and trusted community leader. Raised in a close family and from humble roots, the value of hard work was instilled at a young age, and her blue-collar background and work experience have prepared her well to serve the constituents of the 120th Legislative District.
Rep. Pugh is a fiscal conservative with over 34 years of business experience. Her legislative priorities include:
– | Jobs First: Stop job-crushing regulations, support energy independence and stand with workers. |
– | Protecting Taxpayers: Hold the line on broad-based taxes. |
– | Public Safety: Ensure police and first responders have the tools they need. |
– | Prioritizing Students: Give parents more control and focus on catching up kids who have fallen behind at school. |
– | Backing Real Reforms: Supports Voter ID and ending automatic COLAs for politicians and unaccountable per diems without receipts. |
Rep. Pugh and her husband Alan – who is a retired police officer & volunteer fire chief also continues to serve as a regional EMA coordinator – live in Dallas, and are the proud parents of three adult children, five grandchildren and a Golden Retriever named Baron.
The 120th Legislative District includes Courtdale, Edwardsville, Exeter, Forty Fort, Kingston, Luzerne, Pringle, Swoyersville, West Pittston, West Wyoming and Wyoming boroughs, as well as Exeter, Jackson and Kingston townships in Luzerne County.
